Intelligent Central Blasting System (IBS)

  • The IBS provides continuous near real time local system monitoring with remote access monitoring capabilities. This feature greatly improves the pre and post blasting decision-making processes.

    It consists of:
     - An Intelligent Blasting Control Unit Model IBC-1 which is installed on surface,
     - Several Intelligent Section Control Units Model ISC-1 (one for each level/section), and,
     - Intelligent Blasting Boosters Model IB651 located at blasting points throughout the mine.

     

    The Intelligent Centralized Blasting System is modular in design.

     

    The continuous monitoring feature built into the system ensures an up to date centralised blasting system status and overview is available.

Main Features of Intelligent Centralized Blasting System 

  •  

    - Central point for blasting (centralized blasting) with the blasting signal -power available from one point.

    - Monitoring via the local network and easy to use Graphical User Interface.
    - Remote monitoring through the Internet using a Web browser.

    - Basic information IB651 and the ISC-1 is visually conveyed through a STATUS light.

    - ISC-1 units provide the ability to independently isolate the specific level/section. This can be used to isolate faulty section or a section that is not being blasted.

    - Proprietary uplink protocols enable monitoring over existing cables obviating the need to run additional cabling.

    - Consistent IB651 Booster output energy when firing.

    - IB651 Boosters fire multiple times during the one minute blasting period

    - The IBS continuously monitors the following:
    -Centralized Blasting System cabling for short circuit and Earth leakage faults.
    - Cable Monitoring
    - IB651 Boosters status

Shot Exploder 

  • The Exploder is operated by means of a key switch which fires automatically after a delay of 1.5-3 seconds. An indicator light flashes when firing takes place.

     

    The Exploder is powered by a rechargeable battery and is capable of at least 200 firings. The battery must be recharged with the specially designed charging cube when the firing time exceeds 3 seconds.

     

Radio Controlled Blasting Module 

  • It consists of a hand held transmitter and a radio controlled initiator, both operating in the frequency range of 433MHz – 434.79MHz over the range of 1000m (line of sight).



    Each transmitter/receiver pair is individually coded by the manufacturer using key to key encryption to ensure security of the system and preventing false triggering in case of more than one set being used in close proximity
